What this is

Lovely is a place to write a world and play inside it. The replies are written by a language model. Using the site means agreeing to what is below; if you do not, do not use it.

Who may use it

Adults only — you must be 18 or older. One person, one account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

What you write

Your worlds and your conversations are yours. You keep whatever rights you have in them. By making a world public you let other people here open it and play in it; that is the only licence you grant, it covers this site alone, and it ends when you make the world private or delete it. Your conversations are never shown to anybody else.

What you may not do

• Sexual content involving minors, in any form, invented or otherwise. Accounts that do this are deleted without warning and without appeal.
• Content that targets a real person: impersonation, harassment, anything presented as a real statement or a real recording of somebody who exists.
• Using the site to plan violence, to build weapons, or to do anything that is against the law where you are.
• Automated access, scraping the worlds other people have written, or trying to get at the model behind the site rather than the site itself.

What the model writes

Replies are generated. They are fiction, they are often wrong about the world, and they are not advice — medical, legal, financial or otherwise. A character is not a person and cannot help you in an emergency. If you are in crisis, contact a local emergency service or, in the US, call or text 988.

Text messages

You can play Lovely by text. These terms cover that programme too.

• How you join. By texting our number yourself (for example from the “Continue on text” button), by signing up at lovelyworlds.com/sms, or by replying YES to an invitation. Joining means you agree to these terms and the privacy policy.
• Invitations. When a friend invites you, we send one text saying who invited you. If you don't reply YES, we don't text you again.
• What you get. Replies from AI story characters to the messages you send, and short notices about your worlds, such as a friend joining one. The characters are AI-generated fiction, not real people. No marketing.
• Frequency and cost. Message frequency varies with how much you chat. Lovely charges nothing for texts; message and data rates may apply from your carrier.
• Stopping. Reply STOP to any message to end all texts; you'll get one confirmation and nothing after. Reply START to rejoin, or HELP for help.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No warranty

Lovely is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. The service may change, be interrupted or end, and we can't guarantee that content will never be lost. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid to use Lovely.

Ending it

You can stop at any time and have everything deleted by asking (see the privacy policy). Accounts that break the rules above may be closed.

Changes

These terms can change; the date at the top says when they last did, and material changes are emailed to anyone with an account before they take effect.
